KSU DANCE COMPANY DOES IT AGAIN !!!!

I'm so proud to be apart of the Kennesaw State Dance company. Two years ago I decided to be apart of this school and company and personally, I feel that this is the best decision I have ever made. At this University I have the opportunity to work with teachers from Atlanta ballet, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. We also have international teachers from Korea and India. I'm just so blessed to be a part of KSU and attend American College Dance Festival. Here's what our professor Ivan Pulinkala had to say.

Please join me in congratulating the KSU Dance Company cast of "Chakra" for their success at the American College Dance Festival. Our dancers received top honors at the festival this past weekend, and were selected to represent the southeast universities at the national festival being held at the Kennedy Center in May. Listed below are some of the highlights from the festival:

47 works adjudicated at the 2010 Southeast regional American College Dance Festival.
. 12 works were selected for the gala concert.
. "Chakra" performed by the KSU Dance Company, was one of 3 works invited from the gala concert to perform at the national festival at the Kennedy Center in May.
. The national festival is held every two years, showcasing the top companies and choreography across the country.
. The KSU Dance Company was the only university at the festival that has been selected for the gala concert for the last 4 years in succession.
. We are also one of the very few schools in the history of the American College Dance Festival to be selected for the national festival in successive national years. We performed at the 2008 nationals held in NYC. Given our less than 6-year existence, we have set quite a record.
. The American College Dance Festival uses a blind adjudication process. The national adjudicators do not know what college is performing or the name of the choreographer. They are isolated from the participants at the festival, and only given the titles of each work with information about the musical score.
. We were selected for this national honor among schools like Univ. of Alabama, Florida State University, Emory, Univ. of Missouri, Univ. of S. Carolina, , Univ. of North Carolina, Univ. of Kentucky, Univ. of Memphis, Univ. of Southern Mississippi and Univ. of Georgia, to name a few.

Congratulations to the following KSU dancers:
